Local Law Enforcement
Around fifty vehicles have been marked with what seems to be human blood in the Germany's city of Hanau in proximity to Frankfurt, according to authorities.
Automobiles, exterior walls and postboxes were vandalized, sometimes with Nazi symbols, they stated in a official communication.
Law enforcement state they were contacted in the late hours on Wednesday night, when a resident discovered that a automobile in the Lamboy district of Hanau had been marked with a red-colored fluid.
The fluid had been placed in the shape of a swastika, they added.
Officers then located multiple other vandalized automobiles and building exteriors in the adjacent neighborhood.
These symbols are illegal in Germany under laws outlawing the public display of Nazi symbols.
Police say preliminary tests indicate the liquid was likely human bodily fluid.
"There is still no clue as to its origin; authorities are presently not informed of any harm in relation with the occurrence," they stated.
Municipal representatives announced they were trying "to solve the case" and have asked to the community for details.
A high-ranking political figure said the attack made him stunned and required to be solved rapidly.
"This event strikes at the core of Hanau and reawakens the pain of the right-wing attack in 2020," he posted on online, recalling the killing of nine people by a shooter targeting people of foreign heritage in five years prior.
